Thinking Classrooms Cadre – Literacy

The Thinking Classrooms Cadre brings together secondary (5-12) literacy educators interested in implementing the strategies laid out by Peter Liljedahl in his book, Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics.  You’ve tried lots of instructional methods and delivery options for years, only for them to fade away or get abandoned when the status quo is too strong and the system returns to tradition.  These strategies are designed to shift your classroom routines to the point where the status quo cannot defend itself.  Change must happen, and along with it will come a change in your student’s engagement and learning.

Who should attend?

Literacy educators and/or literacy coaches in grades 5-12 wanting to begin implementing the Building Thinking Classrooms strategies.  If you have been implementing, but still feel like a beginner or feel like you still have a lot to learn from sharing with and learning from others, and you want to take advantage of the collaborative network of the Thinking Classrooms Cadre, please join us.
