Professional Learning Specialist
Morgan Mason is a Professional Learning Specialist for Keep Indiana Learning, a department of Central Indiana Educational Service Center. Morgan began her journey as an educator in 2015. She started as an elementary classroom teacher, serving students in grades 1, 3, and 4. From there, she transitioned into the role of instructional coach, where she supported English Language Arts teachers in grades K-8. As a member of the school leadership team, she worked closely with administrators to develop systems designed to positively impact teachers and students. When she began at CIESC, she worked with schools to implement the Science of Reading alongside a Student-Centered Coaching model.
Morgan’s work has increasingly expanded into early childhood and early literacy, with a focus on strengthening the connection between early learning experiences and later literacy success. She has developed and facilitated professional learning for early childhood and elementary educators, supported initiatives focused on kindergarten readiness and transition, and worked alongside educators to strengthen evidence-aligned early literacy practices. Her work emphasizes building strong foundations in oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, and other skills that support children as they develop into successful readers and writers.
Morgan currently works collaboratively with teachers, coaches, schools, districts, and early childhood educators on:
- Creating partnerships with educators and schools to enhance instructional practices in literacy and early literacy
- Supporting early childhood educators in building strong foundations for language, literacy, and future learning
- Strengthening connections and transitions between early childhood settings and elementary schools
- Implementing the Science of Reading within new or existing curricula and instructional systems
- Developing professional learning experiences that strengthen educators’ literacy knowledge, instructional practices, and confidence
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University and her Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Butler University’s EPPSP program.
