Carrying the Torch to Student Success

The Indiana Department of Education and Indiana School Counselor Association launched Carrying the Torch (CTT) to Student Success: Indiana’s Comprehensive School Counseling Program in November, 2022. 

School Counselors across the state of Indiana have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive school counseling program at their own pace using a free online platform offered by Inspire Success.  Counselors can select to participate in bronze, silver, or gold star levels to meet requirements for CTT. 

*New! Indiana is now one of 6 states in the nation to earn reciprocity with ASCA’s RAMP program for Carrying the Torch to Student Success Comprehensive School Counseling Initiative!  Schools who successfully complete the Gold Level programming qualify for RAMP recognition as well! 

Comprehensive School Counselor Training: 2023 Cohort

Counselor Connect is thrilled to partner with the Indiana Department of Education, Indiana School Counselor Association, & Inspire Success to offer a FREE virtual training series for school counselor teams interested in completing the bronze and silver levels during year one, with the option to work towards the gold level in year two.

  • Having a school counseling program that’s data-driven?
  • Increasing satisfaction with your school counseling job?
  • Increasing student proficiency rates in ELA and Math? 
  • Spending more time with students and less time on non-counseling duties?

Counselors will have the option to continue into year 2 during the 2024-2025 school year to meet criteria for gold level status for Carrying the Torch, which also aligns to criteria for the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP). A request for reciprocity with ASCA for the RAMP award has been requested and is pending. 

All sessions will be recorded and posted to the Carrying the Torch platform.
