    Amanda Huffman is a graduate fellow at Purdue University pursuing a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Mathematics Education. She graduated from Butler University with a BS in Middle/Secondary Education with a double major in Mathematics in 2012 and a MS in Effective Teaching and Leadership in 2016. She began her career at Pike High School in Indianapolis, Indiana where she taught for 9 years and hosted many student teachers. She also provided mathematics methods instruction both in person and virtually for numerous undergraduates. Amanda has researched integrating literature and writing into teaching mathematics and the relationships created through of a professional learning community focused on mathematics specific methods for preservice teachers. Currently, she is researching secondary mathematics teachers’ instructional visions in their early career and she is collaborating on research around the story in written and enacted lessons with a focus on inquiry.
