Readers, however, fall on a scale somewhere between cereal box and Harry Potter, so how do we help them find books they will enjoy?Â
Martie Hoofer, 7th Grade English Teacher at Guion Creek Middle School in Indianapolis and I teamed up this year to create some kooky Read Alike lists that will help.
These lists use some uncommon methods to help get the right book in the hands of the right reader. From video games to cartoon characters, we’re finding books and making connections!Â
This week we feature elementary and high school lists. Next week Martie unveils the books for our pickiest readers, the middle schoolers!Â
All books are linked to the Amazon page for easy access to reviews and sample pages. However, your public library, local bookstore, or other favorite book retailers should have copies of these titles. We hope you share these books with your readers and continue finding ways to create connections to reading.
