Translanguaging: Utilizing Home Languages in Classroom Instruction
In the K-12 classroom, translanguaging refers to how teachers (monolingual and bilingual) can include English and the home language of emergent bilingual students to support learning. When students can use what they know in both languages, learning is enhanced.
