Lisa Gardner
Lisa Gardner is in her 19th year as a director of curriculum for the Borden-Henryville School Corporation. As a former high school English teacher, Title I elementary teacher, and instructional coach, Lisa is passionate about the importance of reading. Heavily invested in current research, Lisa understands the art and science behind reading instruction and believes that all 5 pillars must be mastered for students to be successful. Lisa serves on her school and district RTI teams to develop a multi-tiered system of support that incorporates co-teaching and collaboration among special education, Title I, and English Learners. Using guided reading, the Orton-Gillingham Method, and best practices in literacy instruction, Lisa is working hard in her district to bridge the gap between special education. Lisa received her Bachelor's Degree in English Education and her Master’s in Education from Indiana University Southeast, and a license in Educational Leadership from Oakland City University.
