“Teacher Tips in Five Minutes or Less” is a series that provides teachers with tips they can use. Every teacher has sat through a professional development that has been useless. They may leave feeling inspired or motivated to stay in the profession; however, they left without any tangible steps they could use. Sometimes, teachers leave with tips they can use, but the tips are so complicated that teachers put them off until later and later never comes around.

Let’s face it. Teachers are busy! They want solutions to issues they are facing in the classroom, and they want it as fast as possible. With this in mind, the Keep Indiana Learning Teacher Tips Series was created.
So far, the series has covered the following topics:
- Building Relationships Part I
- Building Relationships Part II
- Building Relationships with Read Alouds
- Reading Bookmarks
- Soft Starts
- Tell Your Neighbor
- Prioritizing Your “To Do” List
- Managing Grading
- Managing Grading – English Teacher Edition
- Eliminating Sunday Scaries
- Calling Home & Scripts to Make It Easier
- Deposits & Withdrawals
Each episode has a recurring format. An issue is identified, and then a strategy is introduced. In less than five minutes, an explanation is given on how a teacher can implement the strategy.
“This series is for new teachers seeking to establish effective routines and practices, veteran educators looking for a quick refresher or new inspiration on practical classroom strategies, and instructional coaches who need micro-content for workshops or PD sessions.”
