First grade is an important year for the foundational learning of early math skills and concepts, especially in the areas of number sense and computation. This session will include an overview of a progression of number sense and computation development in the early grades, the unpacking of First Grade math standards, and an introduction to a variety of games and instructional practices that will help to solidify this early learning.

  1. Participants will unpack and explore the learning progression of computation and number sense standards
  2. Participants will learn a variety of activities to support the early development of number work
