Accelerate, Don’t Remediate: Closing the Gap for our Math Students
Recent research has shown that learning acceleration, not remediation is the key to closing learning gaps for math students. In this session, we will examine exactly what learning acceleration looks like in a math classroom. We will draw comparisons between acceleration and remediation. Learning acceleration supports equity in the classroom, where remediation can create a lack of equity. We will discuss why. Learn all you need to know to build your math units and lessons this year to address all of your students’ learning needs.
